Call For Submissions: IMSTA Song Competition: A Major Label Contract Up For Grabs
Songwriters have hermitic tendencies, tending to shy away from the public eye, confining themselves into their own world with just their instrument in hand. All of these things that songwriters do to hone their craft, all that investment in gear, and all the ego-busting criticism some songwriters go through can all be poured into one song. If you happen to think you've got gold written in pen and paper or recorded inside a tape or your own computer, better consider coming out of your shell to join the IMSTA Song Competition.
The International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) in cooperation with chart-topping artist Akon's HITLAB has just provided a grand opportunity for songwriters/musicians all over the world to participate in a unique and exciting songwriting competition. The IMSTA Song Competition is calling out all songwriters and musicians who have high-quality demos or master recordings of their original songs to submit their material for a chance to win a contract with a major label.

If you happen to be a fan of the Smashing Pumpkins and is at the same time either an accomplished bass or keyboard player, an opportunity has just sprung up to get you into the spotlight. Billy Corgan, frontman of the band Smashing Pumpkins, has just announced recently that they are looking for a new bassist and a new keyboardist. This announcement, according to Musicradar.com, arrived at the time when Ginger Pooley decided to leave the band in order to prioritize raising her baby with her husband. Mark Tulin of The Electric Prunes will be filling in the bass position on an interim basis until a new bassist is found. If you want to know more details on how to apply for the vacancies, read on.

Call For Submissions: Beam-KMI Sensor-Bow Composition Contest
Composers who are Mac users really have some good luck going on for them. Upon inspecting Keith McMillen's unique creations, I had just spotted one interesting bit. Keith McMillen Instruments has just announced a composition competition where the winner will be given a complete K-Bow system and a $5,000.00 commission.
If you have a really good, unpublished, and unperformed composition for a solo bowed string family instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass), this is a chance to put it to good use. The thing that you would need to do now is to tailor that masterpiece into using the Keith McMillen K-Bow, a revolutionary implement that allows string players to have access and control to synthesis and sound processing.
