Some people enjoyed having a great time with their handheld Zoom H2's, recording anything they fancy on the spot. Described by a few as a "studio on a stick", this high-resolution recorder have made it easy for musicians to capture ideas, create samples, or record live performances and enjoy them as clear and pristine recordings for various means. As the H2 was a downsized version of the H4, Zoom is once more trimming down these handheld recorders to a much smaller footprint in the form of the Zoom H1.
The Zoom H1 handy recorder is the smallest handheld and arguably the most economical Zoom audio recorder to date. Size equates to economy in the Zoom H1's case as it only uses one AAA battery to get it powered. This enables the Zoom H1 to function well for up to 10 hours.
In terms of audio resolution, the H1 handy recorder is capable of creating up to 24-bit/96-kHz recordings via its XY Mic capsules. This handheld recorder also features a low-cut filter, USB 2.0 connectivity, and input and output ports for external microphones and other audio devices.
The Zoom H1 is expected to ship this June 2010 and is priced at 119.00 EUR.
