"Handwired-Effects" VTR-1 Vintage Tremolo: Swinging Nicely Into the Pa
Posted on Tuesday, March 09 @ 23:00:00 CST by admin

Tools and Hardware One of the earliest kinds of guitar effects was the so-called tremolo effect. Most know about this kind of effect through vintage tube amplifiers equipped with a tremolo circuit which causes rhythmic volume fluctuations to achieve a wavering effect as showcased in the music of the 1950s and 1960s. From slowly pulsating throbs to deep hypnotic vibrato, the vintage tremolo is recreated in contemporary times via the "Handwired-Effects VTR-1 Vintage Tremolo.

The VTR-1 Vintage Tremolo has been designed to recreate that tremolo effect foun in tube amplifiers from the 1950s and 1960s, producing that pulsating sound without producing distortion even when the strings are hit hard. The vibrato pattern on this pedal is sine wave based.

The VTR-1's controls include a Depth knob that sets the intensity of the effect. There are also two speed knobs that work independently and provides the ability to create contrasting speed settings. It has an additional footswitch that allows users to go back and forth different settings, most useful in live stage performances. In essence, the VTR-1 consists of two pedals in just one package.

The VTR-1 boasts of carefully hand-wired analog circuitry and works great with both clean and dirty channels. It also features mechanical true bypass switching and runs on either a 9V battery or an optional external power supply.
