Allen & Heath Launches an Updated Version of iLive Software
Posted on Tuesday, March 09 @ 23:00:00 CST by admin

Broadcast Everybody needs a good deal of control over a lot of audio processes, whether in live or studio situations. Economy combined with power is the modern way of getting that control, and Allen & Heath's answer to that requirement is iLive. The users of iLive will be delighted to know that the new firmware and editor software update, iLive 1.6 is now available to bring about new enhancements.

The iLive 1.6 now has support for the new iLive-R72 Control Surface, offers Dual-Rack input expansion, and exhibits a new SuperStrip user view in the Editor control software.

Looking back, the iLive-R72 was introduced back during Winter NAMM 2010 as the most compact iLive surface to date. The iLive-R72 provides 72 control strips, all arranged in 6 layers of 12 faders across 2 banks. The new iLive 1.6 supports this new hardware and is fully compatible with the virtual control Editor software.

The new iLive 1.6 now provides the so-called Dual-Rack input expansion feature that allows up to 128 input channels to be used. Two MixRacks can be linked together via the Port B sockets in order to expand the number of channels feeding the 32 mix buses, enabling both racks to be controlled by one surface as well. The "SuperStrip" processing view combines important live mixing parameters in a single windows, providing a simpler and more comprehensive interface. The redundancy socket on Allen & Heath's ACE™ (Audio and Control over Ethernet) option card can now be configured as a breakout to split to other iLive systems using the iLive 1.6 software, providing a cost-effective audio networking alternative.

The Allen & Heath iLive 1.6 software update can now be downloaded from the Allen & Heath iLive website.
