One of Johann Sebastian Bach's favorite instruments was the uniquely crafted Lute-Harpsichord, or Lautenwerck. A harpsichord that sounded like a lute, the baroque master was reported to have owned two of them during his lifetime. The Lute-Harpsichord (a harpsichord that sounded and was even shaped like a lute) was thought to have had the fate of the dodo, until musicologists have found that such an instrument exists along with works written for it. Thanks to people such as Professor Beuermann, the Lautenwerck has been reconstructed and made available to more people courtesy of technology. Enter the Realsamples German Lautenwerck - Edition Beuermann.
