IK Multimedia StealthBoard: Completing Your Computer-Based Guitar Rig
Posted on Friday, February 05 @ 23:00:00 CST by admin

Tools and Hardware It is very nice indeed that technology has come a long way to make things such as tube amplifiers stacks fit right inside a laptop. It would be a lot nicer if you had some realistic controls to it. It's very nice to know that since the advent of MIDI, things such as assignable foot controllers had already become a possibility way before software emulation of hardware devices existed. Fast forward to today's generation, we have a variety of foot controllers now available including the IK Multimedia StealthBoard.

The IK Multimedia StealthBoard is built to control software-based guitar rigs. It sports a USB MIDI port for a simple connection to any computer that has amplifier modeling and effects software. It can also control or be controlled by other MIDI-compliant gear with its traditional MIDI I/O ports.

As it is true that IK Multimedia is the developer behind Amplitube, it is a dead giveaway that the StealthBoard is primarily designed for use with Amplitube. As for the controls themselves, the StealthBoard has 10 assignable switches and an expression pedal to run a smorgasbord of software-based guitar rig functions such as amp and effects switching as well as expressive control over things such as wah and volume.

    FEATURES:
    • USB/MIDI floor controller
    • 10 assignable switches + 1 built-in expression pedal
    • 4 optional external controllers (pedals/switches)
    • Large 4-Digit display
    • MIDI IN / OUT
    • Dual channel switching outputs
    • Controls any AmpliTube product without additional setup
    • Can be used with any MIDI controllable software
    • Controls any MIDI controllable hardware FX processor or MIDI device
    • Includes AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop™ edition
    • 3-way power supply (DC, USB, Battery)
    • Rugged design
    • Program/backup via computer
IK Multimedia StealtBoard has an MSRP of 399.99 USD and will become available by the early second quarter of 2010.
