NOTION SLE: A Special Version For Vienna Symphonic Library
Posted on Thursday, February 04 @ 23:00:00 CST by admin

Electronic Music It is within the knowledge of many composers who are into electronic modes of composition that NOTION3 is that one scorewriter with the functionalities of a DAW as well as an orchestra "replacement", being suited for live performance. While the above statement might merit the ire of traditional orchestra musicians, here's another piece of news that may further tick them off. Vienna Symphonic Library's virtual instruments are among the most critically acclaimed collections for orchestral simulation, and NOTION Music has decided to develop and release NOTION SLE, a special edition of NOTION3 customized for Vienna Symphonic Library's all-in-one orchestral collections.

Being in the business as a perceived threat to real living, breathing, eating, money-spending orchestra musicians, NOTION Music states that NOTION SLE features presets created for Vienna Instruments, Vienna Ensemble, and Vienna Ensemble PRO. How realistic can it get? NOTION SLE can handle all articulation changes in the background directly from the score itself. This results in realistic playing. Of course, how realistic it really plays is a subject of debate but NOTION Music would say that it's pretty close enough to achieve merit as a composer's composition and performance alternative.

NOTION SLE contains 100 presets that caters to all instruments and ensembles within the Vienna Special Edition collections. As users write the score and corresponding articulations, NOTION SLE follows all information from the score automatically. It is capable of reproducing a range of playing techniques such as dynamics, hairpins, articulations and even portamento. NOTION SLE is also packaged with a demo of Vienna Suite, a collection of high-end audio production tools.
